And you can do all this relatively free. Of course, the game is linear, and there is always a certain “golden path”, but the levels are built so that Gamer does not feel like a clamped in a narrow corridor: there will always be two, three, four options for passing the same stage, and each route will be in its own crazy and unique.
But as for more calm and peaceful trips, the authors are not yet sure: “The main thing is that the game is funny. We are still testing some points: if you provide you with an open space for research, it is a good idea, then such an opportunity will remain. In most cases, you can’t just get out of the car and take a walk in the vicinity – this will not allow the situation and plot ”.
But if a car study is in question, then the authors decided about pedestrian walks: Uncharted 4 fully changed the approach to the structure of levels. They are now characterized as wide-linear. For example, if the scene begins on the market, then it will be possible to leave it in three or four ways in general from different sides. Given that most of the game unfolds on a tropical island, you can draw parallels from Tomb Raider (2013): there the open world also consisted, in fact, of the interweaving of quite definite paths. In addition, Drake finally “caught up with” the lara in terms of mobility: with a rope and pocket “ice axes” he can freely jump between rocks and climb on the steep walls.
Of course, this seriously affected combat mechanics: shootings have become many times more active. In cities you will have to constantly use the stairs, climb on the roofs and fall to the enemies on the heads from the cornices. In a rocky area, the rope will fly between the islands of the Earth, fleeing the enemies that are trying to surround, shoot both from above and below.
If you go into details stronger, then the action began to depend much more on the context – Drake now knows how to go to shelter and crawl on all fours. And he intercepted several hand -to -hand tricks from Joel. Each blow is trying to use the environment one way or another: to smear your head on the table with tomatoes, press against the wall under the waterfall, throw down the cliff down. During a car chase, completely amazing things happen: you can throw the enemy out of the body, while knocking down the side and being open to enemy fire.
The basis of the fourth part is rhythm. “Wow” the effect arises not just from the fact that Drake draggs behind a truck on a rope, but from how smoothly he moves to the body, fights, shoots, transplants behind the wheel, breaks several fences, throws the car and again gets involved in a shootout.
